The reputation for reliability and versatility dominates the new Shimano Stradic HG FM reel, the latest addition to Shimano's CoreSolid spinning reel range. HG reels are characterized by a higher gear ratio compared to the standard range.

Featuring technologies inherited from Shimano's top-tier series, the redesigned Stradic HG FM adds InfinityXross technology for unmatched durability and gear synergy by horizontally extending the gear tooth, which helps distribute load more evenly. This uses Shimano's cold-forged Hagane Gear technology for enhanced strength, combined with MicroModule II refinement for a superior winding experience.

The addition of InfinityDrive provides smooth rotation and increased starting power under load, while the new Duracross Drag system delivers smooth felt drag disc performance with up to 10 times greater durability. Shimano’s water-repellent X-Protect coating and specially designed labyrinth construction channel water away to ensure long life and high performance by preventing water intrusion in key areas without adding resistance to rotation. The new Anti-Twist Fin—an elastic polymer on the spool’s underside—improves line management for anglers using monofilament or fluorocarbon lines.
