Shimano Saragosa SW A HG/XG Reel

The new Saragosa SW is a powerful, saltwater-resistant reel with reduced weight, making it suitable for boat fishing. Durability is greatly improved thanks to Hagane gears and the addition of the X Protect system (IPX-8 rating). Infinity Drive technology provides an even smoother reeling experience, optimizing torque by up to 30%. Infinity Drive is a new construction that eliminates sliding resistance and allows easy operation both under load and in normal conditions. It is a contactless design where the inner part of the pinion does not touch the main shaft. This reduction in sliding resistance is achieved by using a special low-friction bushing that keeps the main shaft stable.

Hagane Gear technology delivers remarkable strength and durability. It contributes to smooth and precise operation of the internal gears. No cutting operations are applied to the drive gear teeth. Instead, the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by a special 3D design and then formed using Shimano's patented cold-forging technology. S-ARB bearings feature shields on both sides to reduce the chance of sand or saltwater inhibiting their rotation.

The X-SHIP system provides improved durability to the pinion while eliminating rotor twist and flex. By supporting the pinion at both ends with bearings, it maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will remain in the same position under the heaviest loads. An additional advantage is that friction between the spool shaft and the gear is eliminated. This will enhance spool performance when casting lighter lures. X-Protect technology ensures high resistance against water ingress to the internal gears without sacrificing the rotor's smooth rotation and the smooth operation of the handle.
