The Shimano Curado BFS XG is a compact, versatile, and durable baitcasting reel, equipped with 8 (7BB+1RB) state-of-the-art bearings and MicroModule gearing for smooth operation and vibration elimination. It weighs only 175g, translating to excellent maneuverability and precise casting to specific spots. It features a fast gear ratio of 8.2:1, retrieving approximately 82cm of line per handle turn, allowing for spectacular lure presentations.

The Curado BFS incorporates Shimano's Finesse Tune Brake (FTB) system to reduce spool weight by moving the brake unit from the spool to the side plate. Unlike traditional magnetic braking systems that maintain the same resistance throughout the cast, Shimano's FTB harnesses centrifugal force, and the magnetic brakes automatically adjust to slow the spool only when braking is needed. Fully adjustable, anglers can fine-tune FTB using the external dial or by adding or removing individual magnets as required.
