Shimano Aerlex 10000 XSB Reel

Keeping the price level below 100 Euro, while bringing improvements in both design and functionality, Shimano presents the Aerlex 10000 XSB reel (the silver color variant of the XTB model). Besides the aesthetic modifications that instantly catch the eye, the new Aerlex models are equipped with the "Instant Drag" brake, allowing the spool to be released from tight to free position with just half a turn of the knob.

The use of the Carbon XT-7 alloy has made the new Aerlex model very lightweight, yet compact, making it practically the ideal reel for long-distance casting when we need to impart higher speed to the entire setup. Also, to enhance casting performance, the Shimano Aerlex uses the new long cast AR-C Spool made of aluminum and the well-known Aero Wrap II system. The Easy Maintenance port allows lubrication of the internal gear of the reel without requiring disassembly.

The reel is sold together with 4 plastic washers (two thin and two thick) that serve to adjust the line lay on the spool. These washers are mounted on the reel's main shaft and have no relation to the front brake of the reel! Each reel comes factory-set with one washer on the shaft to ensure correct line lay on the spool. These washers are used only if you want to modify the line lay on the spool.

WARNING: There are 3 ways to lay the line on the spool: 1. regular taper (from spool base to tip) – add one thin washer plus one thick washer on the shaft; 2. reverse taper (from tip to spool base) – remove the factory washer and add one thick washer; 3. normal (straight) – add one thin washer on the shaft.

• Aero Wrap II - a special line lay system with two speeds for an "X" shaped lay, facilitating long casts without the risk of accidental bird nests;
• AR-C Light Spool - a new spool design with a "V"-shaped lip that ensures the line lays in smaller loops for more accurate, long-distance casting. The AR-C spool minimizes the risk of backlash;
• Dyna Balance - computer-balanced rotor that reduces reel play and ensures exceptional performance;
• Instant Drag - the instant brake system allows brake adjustment from "free" to "tight" by turning the knob only half a turn;
• Power Roller - significantly reduces the chance of line loops, especially during retrieval, whether using monofilament or braided line;
• Super Stopper - advanced and improved Anti-Reverse system;
• Easy Maintenance - this feature allows lubrication of the internal gear of the reel without disassembling it. A small lubrication port is included on all reels from the SR and S ranges, which, once opened, allows the application of the manufacturer's approved lubricant directly inside the mechanism.
