The SG4 reel is an excellent example of how Savage Gear specialists designed and perfected these reels "from scratch." The SG4 features state-of-the-art technology, a strong, robust, and lightweight composite graphite body and gears, and even the ultra-slow oscillation system DLM (Dynamic Line Management), which allows for even line distribution. Brake performance is guaranteed by the Felt Drag System (FSC-1) with oil-impregnated felt washers. Additionally, the spool with a T-clip is of the Aero Lip type, which helps achieve considerable distances by reducing line friction on its upper lip.

Even under intense usage conditions, the manufacturer ensures reliability with 8+1 stainless steel ball bearings. The spool's shape prevents line slippage, as the grooves on the spool provide excellent line grip, making it impossible for the line to slip and cause problems during the fight with trophy predators.
