The Opinel Pocket Knife Nr.12 Explorer 2 is a pocket knife specially designed for outdoor activities and hiking, and can be considered a true survival tool. The 9.8cm blade is partially serrated (about 4cm length) for easily cutting rope, string, etc., and is thicker than the classic version. It is made from modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel with high corrosion resistance due to added chromium, and has undergone a special heat treatment, resulting in a hardness of 57-58HRC.

The ergonomic handle is partially made of polyamide and rubber, resistant to moisture and extreme temperatures (between -40 and +80 degrees C), slightly widened at the end, making the grip comfortable and preventing the knife from slipping during use. At the end of the handle, it also features a built-in 110 dB whistle for emergency signaling, audible from over 300 m away. It is equipped with a Virobloc locking system - this locks the blade in either the open or closed position, making it easy and safe to store and carry. The Opinel Nr.12 Explorer 2 is almost identical to the Opinel Nr.12 Explorer; the difference is that the handle's end has a tick remover tool instead of a fire striker.
