The Okuma Solaris reel features three standout characteristics at first glance: a two-tone anodized aluminum spool with LCS clip, oil-impregnated felt discs for the braking system, and a strong stainless steel wire pick-up. All these are combined with a corrosion-resistant graphite body and rotor, a brass pinion gear, and a bearing for the quick anti-reverse system, resulting in a precise reel that operates without "play." This precision is necessary because spinning reels are much more exposed to wear than other types of reels.

The 5.0:1 gear ratio handles any task with ease. It’s slow enough to allow us to apply force when needed but fast enough to retrieve lures immediately.
