Okuma Obsidian Spod is a reel specialized for baiting and marking, built on a lightweight, rigid C-40X carbon body with reinforced side plates and a Cyclonic Flow rotor for increased corrosion resistance. The long-cast spool with a 35mm stroke and super-slow oscillation ensures precise line lay, optimizing casting distances and control during baiting.

The Frictionless Main Shaft design reduces shaft friction, delivering smooth, resistance-free retrieves, while the A7075 aluminum main shaft helps cut overall weight. The Worm Shaft system guarantees even line lay, and the Even Flow roller with DLC coating protects the line under heavy use.

The reel features an ultralight direct-threaded handle, a Tangle Guard rotor that prevents line from wrapping under the spool, and a progressive rapid drag system with carbon discs capable of delivering 18kg of braking force. The One-Piece Bail improves rigidity and reliability during long baiting sessions.
