Description caret-down

Okuma JAW FD Reel

The Okuma JAW FD is a compact and lightweight reel built around a graphite body, providing increased corrosion resistance. The 4 stainless steel ball bearings (3BB + 1RB), combined with the CNC-machined bronze pinion gear and the computer-balanced rotor system (RESII Computer-Balanced Rotor System), deliver a precision assembly that eliminates all reel vibrations for perfect part alignment and smooth operation.

The standard CNC-machined aluminum spool is painted in two tones (metallic silver and black). The reel's front multi-disc drag system (Drag System Oiled Felt) is equipped with both steel discs and oil-impregnated felt discs made in Japan. The CFR (Cyclonic Flow Rotor) technology creates a cyclonic airflow that minimizes water intrusion and thus internal corrosion of the parts.

The Quick Set Infinite Anti-Reverse system (unidirectional roller bearing) allows the rotor to rotate in only one direction. Only the highest quality steel parts with the tightest tolerances are used here. The "Even Flow Line Roller" technology reduces line twist by allowing the roller to turn freely without friction, preventing line breakage. A durable pick-up wire, metal alloy handle, and knob complete the reel’s features.

NOTE: The 2000, 3000, and 4000 sizes come with a type "I" EVA knob, while the 4500 and 5500 sizes are equipped with a type "T" knob made of TPE.
