Okuma Cedros are specially designed for use in saltwater, featuring the unique LITECAST (TM) design, the Dual Force Drag System for extreme braking power, and the High Density Gearing with a special corrosion-resistant coating. Combined with a high-speed retrieve ratio and an aluminum handle, Cedros is one of the best reels for saltwater fishing. Litecast is Okuma’s patented new technology for reels, using magnesium and a special casting process to make the reel lighter while maintaining high strength. The Litecast reels' structure is both durable and 15% lighter than aluminum alloy reels. Even under intense use, the manufacturer ensures reliability with 6+1 stainless steel ball bearings, and the gear chamber is perfectly sealed to significantly reduce water intrusion.

Dual Force Drag (DFD) involves both surfaces of the spool to maximize drag pressure, efficiency, and smoothness of operation. Mounted on top of the spool and protected by the Hydro Block system is a multi-disc felt drag system, which works in combination with a secondary drag system mounted beneath the spool. Pressure is applied to both spool surfaces for maximum stability and a significant increase in drag efficiency compared to traditional systems. High Density Gearing II incorporates a very strong alloy composition with a special anti-corrosive coating process. The result is high-density, corrosion-resistant gears, specifically designed to withstand the harshest elements and demands.
