The EINSTEIN™ 1000 FLEX LED Head Torch is a rechargeable headlamp featuring 5 lighting modes, named after the renowned physicist Albert Einstein, manufactured by Nebo in Grand Prairie, Texas, USA. This headlamp utilizes Power Flex technology, allowing it to be powered by a custom 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery (included) or two CR123A lithium-metal batteries as a backup if you run out of power and cannot recharge the lamp or need to continue using the lamp while the main battery is charging. The batteries are positioned on the back of the head strap in a separate battery holder to distribute weight evenly. The 18650 lithium-ion battery features a built-in USB-C port on its top, allowing for charging outside the lamp using the included USB-C to USB-A cable from a USB power source. While charging, a red LED indicator lights up, turning green once charging is complete.

This headlamp features dual high-power white LEDs that emit a bright beam of 1000 lumens on the turbo setting, designed as a boost setting, allowing for a 10-second burst at a time to prevent the lamp from overheating and protecting the LED. The high setting provides a constant output of 350 lumens for 3 hours of runtime, with medium, low, and red light settings also available. The red light is useful for reading at night, observing wildlife, and maintaining night vision, while the flashing red light is great for attracting attention, making it useful in the car or on camping trips. A separate red LED is located between the white LEDs and can be accessed directly, ensuring that crucial night vision is not disrupted.

Operating the lamp is easy with a single, easy-to-press button located on the top of the lamp. With each press of the power button, the Einstein 1000 Flex cycles through high, medium, low, red light, and off modes. If the lamp is left in any mode for more than 8 seconds, the next press will turn the light off instead of cycling through all modes. The Turbo setting is activated by holding down the power button while the light is on and lasts 30 seconds before reverting to the previous setting or can be turned off quicker by pressing the button again. Direct access to the red light is obtained by holding down the button while the light is off, and then, if desired, each press within 8 seconds will cycle through the settings in reverse. The articulated holder allows the lamp to be tilted at a 60° angle to direct the beam where you need it.

NOTE: Runtime figures for the modes are based on the included rechargeable battery. Runtime is reduced by approximately 20% when using 2 CR123A batteries.
