The Mepps Comet is a spinning lure specially designed for fishing small and medium-sized predators such as chub, trout, or perch. The brass swivel positioned between the blade and the lure body allows it to spin aggressively during retrieval, regardless of speed. The blade has a 45º rotation angle and continuously adapts to current resistance, maintaining vibration levels even during very slow retrieves.

The spinning lure is best used in flowing waters where currents are interrupted by rocks. Its blades work either close to or away from the central axis. The "will o the wisp" action is also an excellent feature in still waters, where it can imitate a wounded fish in its final moments. The general rule is to use smaller sizes for catching smaller fish and larger spinners for bigger fish.
