The production process benefits from multiple patents in metallurgy and manufacturing technology, using specially selected materials - carbon steel with carefully controlled carbon content. These materials, in the form of calibrated wires, are produced exclusively for the Fudo factory. Two different sharpening methods are used: mechanical and chemical. During the process, the sharpness level is monitored online, ultimately resulting in a perfect hook point. Hardening takes place in special computer-assisted ovens, with temperature controlled to an accuracy of 0.01 degrees Celsius, and the treatment time is adjusted with a precision of 0.001 seconds. Consequently, Fudo hooks are perfectly hardened, offering excellent strength and elasticity.

FUDO ISEAMA WITH RING is the classic hook with a wide gape and short shank. Extremely popular among carp anglers, this type of hook is favored by those who want the hooked fish to have minimal chances of escape.

The very sharp point, a general characteristic of FUDO hooks, holds well from one fish to another and, even in the teflonated variant, sticks to the skin at the slightest touch. The fact that the point curves inward provides welcome protection when fishing in areas with hard substrates that could damage the tip on the slightest contact. Additionally, hooks with this feature are harder for the hooked fish to throw during the fight.

Another design element, often overlooked by many anglers, is the barb. A barb that is too large significantly reduces the speed at which the point penetrates and increases the chance the fish will spit the hook before the barb secures the hookset, while one too small raises concerns during a slack line situation in the fight. FUDO hooks, with slight variations depending on model and size, offer anglers the perfect balance between point penetration speed and security provided by an appropriate barb. The eye is straight, extending from the shank. A short heat-shrink tube bent at an aggressive angle helps position the hook tip on the fish’s lower lip when the bait is inhaled. It can be tied with supple line using a simple knotless knot with 4-5 wraps. If you don’t slide the line along the shank all the way to the tip, the hook tends to tilt outward when lifted from the bottom, increasing the chances of hooking the lip compared to sliding the line the entire shank length.

Although these hooks cannot be considered thick-wire, FUDO ISEAMA WITH RING wins in durability thanks to reinforcement of critical areas, curvature, and the lower shank zone.
