Gardner Covert Dark Mugga Barbless hooks are designed for carp fishing and stand out for their unique geometry and excellent hooking performance. The Mugga is one of the most popular models in the Gardner range, thanks to its combination of a curved shank, an eye angled inwards at 25 degrees and an extremely sharp, straight point. This design helps the hook turn quickly when the hooklink is tightened, allowing the point to penetrate the fish’s lower lip or the corner of its mouth without the need for shrink tubing.

The point has been redesigned to be longer, thinner and sharper, helping it set quickly and penetrate efficiently. The hooks are made from high-carbon steel, forged and double heat-treated to provide excellent strength relative to the wire gauge. The matt Covert Dark finish is applied in a single electroplated layer to reduce underwater reflections. It also helps preserve the point by reducing handling during the manufacturing process.

The Barbless version has no barb, making the hook easier to remove and suitable for waters where barbless hooks are mandatory. The curved shape and angled eye make it suitable for use with various hooklinks and modern carp rigs, offering an effective presentation and fast hooking action.
