The production process benefits from several patents in metallurgy and manufacturing techniques, with specially selected materials - carbon steel whose carbon content is carefully controlled. These materials, in the form of calibrated wire, are produced exclusively for the Fudo factory. There are two different sharpening methods used: mechanical and chemical. During the process, the sharpening level is monitored online, which ultimately leads to a perfect hook sharpness. The hardening is done in special computer-assisted ovens, with temperature control accurate to 0.01 degrees Celsius, and the treatment time is adjusted with a precision of 0.001 seconds. Consequently, Fudo hooks are perfectly hardened, offering excellent strength and elasticity.

FUDO ISEAMA WITH RING represents the classic hook with a wide gape and a short shank. Extremely popular among carp anglers, this type of hook is favored by those who want to minimize the chances of a fish getting away once hooked.

The very sharp tip, a general characteristic of FUDO hooks, remains sharp from one fish to another and, including in the case of the teflon-coated variant, adheres to the fish’s skin with the slightest touch. The inward-bent tip provides welcome protection when fishing in hard substrate areas that could damage the tip at the smallest contact. Additionally, hooks with this feature are more difficult for the hooked fish to shake off during the fight.

Another overlooked structural element by many anglers is the barb. A barb that is too large significantly decreases the penetration speed of the tip and increases the chances of the fish spitting the hook out before the barb can secure the hook set, while one that is too small adds suspense for the angler in case of line slack during the fight. FUDO hooks, with slight variations depending on the model and size, offer anglers the perfect balance between tip penetration speed and safety achieved with an appropriate barb. The eye is straight, aligned with the shank. A short heat-shrink tubing, bent at an aggressive angle, helps position the hook with the tip on the fish's lower lip when the bait has been sucked in. It can be tied with a supple line using a simple 4-5 turn knot without a knot. If you do not tie the line onto the shank up to the tip, the hook will tend to tilt forward when lifted off the bottom. In this way, the chances of hooking the fish’s lip are greater than if you tied the line along the entire shank length.

Although they cannot be considered thick-wire hooks, FUDO ISEAMA WITH RING excels in terms of strength by reinforcing critical areas, the bend, and the lower section of the shank. The manufacturer’s chosen solution was simple yet effective: flattening the shank. This results in superior tensile strength at a reduced wire diameter and a lower hook weight.
