The ESP Cryogen Grip Rigger is a teflon-coated hook with an eye slightly bent outward, a medium shank, and a micro barb, specially designed for Chod rigs or other rigs intended for floating baits. The hooks are made from forged Japanese steel, feature a PTFE finish, and the sharp tip crafted with special technology gives them a long lifespan. This hook is ideal for fishing in snaggy areas and gravel zones.

These hooks are currently about 25% stronger than their predecessors, while maintaining the finesse and subtlety of the rig. They are highly effective in a wide variety of bait presentations, and their shape prevents the bait from being dislodged or escaping from the fish’s mouth.

The initial launch of the ESP Cryogen hooks in March 2016 caused a massive stir among renowned anglers, thanks to the remarkable technical advantages they offered. They were the result of over three years of development and field testing, culminating in a new standard of strength and reliability.

New manufacturing techniques involving high and cryogenic temperatures have produced much stronger hooks. Cryogenic tempering is a process used to improve the molecular structure of steel, which in turn reduces stress and enhances wear resistance.

Initial tests showed that the new heat treatment processes combined with heavy forging methods resulted in hooks that were 25-30% stronger than other PTFE-coated carp hooks. The hooks were also subjected to independent scientific tests regarding hardness and tensile strength, and the results confirmed the initial conclusions.
