With the new Tournament QD reel, Daiwa presents a series of match and feeder reels designed for uncompromising use, on which you can fully rely during the toughest challenges in competitions. The HardbodyZ body provides the foundation for a permanently solid gear housing, even for excessive and demanding use. By using Zaion material (extremely lightweight and mechanically resistant) for both the body and the rotor, Daiwa engineers have further reduced the reel’s weight while enhancing retrieval power and durability. The Longcast ABS aluminum spool reduces friction during casting, improving casting distances.

Tough Digigear ensures smooth operation, extreme durability, delivers instant power transmission during retrieval, and increased endurance, making this reel model a reliable companion even for the most active fishing sessions with hundreds of retrieves and casts per day. Thanks to MagSealed® technology, water, dust particles, or salt crystals are prevented from entering between the rotor and the reel body. The magnetic oil-based seal cannot be penetrated by either fine dirt particles or water. With the QD braking system, you can adjust to changing conditions during the fish fight within seconds.

Tough DigiGear® - a digitally developed gearset designed to withstand high traction forces. Incorporated into the spool housing, it transmits handle power directly to the rotor smoothly and very efficiently. The size of the drive gear, strength and angle of the gears, shape and surface of the gear teeth allow the construction of gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal resistance during use, and extremely long service life.

Zaion® - a special material created by Daiwa engineers, characterized by low weight and increased strength. It is a solid "High Density" carbon material designed for high performance and maximum impact resistance (used both for manufacturing bodies and rotors). Thanks to Zaion, a lightweight reel body can be built that withstands gear forces. Zaion’s strength corresponds to magnesium and is 20% stronger than the nylon/ABS material used by the vast majority of manufacturers for reel body construction. Zaion is 50% lighter than aluminum.

Infinite Anti-Reverse® - a roller bearing that allows rotation of the rotor in one direction only. Only the highest quality steel parts with the tightest tolerances are used here.

AirBail® - the reel’s pick-up arm is hollow and therefore strong, light, and durable. Its special construction prevents line twisting around the pick-up wire.

Cross Wrap® - a special cross-lay line winding technology on the spool. This technology significantly reduces tangles around the spool axis. Additionally, the unique winding means more coils are taken onto the spool, resulting in extreme casting distances.

Twist Buster® II - a sophisticated system (patent no. EP0876760B1) that reduces line twisting to a minimum. The latest Twist Buster II system significantly reduces friction between the line and the roller, preventing line breakage.
