Daiwa Crosscast Spod Reel 45 SCW 5000C QD

The Crosscast Spod 45 SCW 5000C QD is a long cast spool reel (45mm stroke) specially designed for baiting with heavy spombs at considerable distances. The reel is built around a robust graphite body, corrosion-resistant, with internal mechanisms driven by 3 sealed ball bearings that ensure smoothness without tiring the arm during repeated casts. The Digigear II system ensures power transmission on retrieval and offers optimal performance. The solid stainless steel shaft provides durability under the toughest operating conditions, and the 5.5:1 gear ratio delivers enormous retrieval power.

The Slow Cross Wrap™ line lay system allows cross distribution of the line coils and significantly reduces friction, thus facilitating achieving long casting distances. The HIP clip on the spool protects the line and allows precise, repeated casts to the baiting spot. The front drag can be switched from tight to completely free with a single full rotation of the drag knob. The light and durable pick-up wire is manually triggered, and the aluminum handle with a knob folds perfectly into the angler’s palm.

Slow Cross Wrap® – is a special cross-shaped line lay technology on the spool. This technology significantly reduces line tangling around the spool shaft. Moreover, its unique winding means more coils are taken onto the spool, which translates into extreme casting distances.

Tough DigiGear® – a digitally developed gear set designed to handle high pulling forces. The pinion, integrated within the spool housing, transmits handle power directly to the rotor smoothly and very efficiently. The size of the drive gear, its strength and gear angle, the shape and surface of the gear teeth allow building gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal resistance during operation, and an extremely long service life.

Twist Buster® II – a sophisticated system (patent no. EP0876760B1) that reduces line twist to a minimum. The latest Twist Buster II system significantly reduces friction between the line and the roller, preventing line breakage.

Infinite Anti-Reverse® – a roller bearing that allows rotor rotation in only one direction. Only the highest quality steel parts with the tightest tolerances are used here.
