The new Daiwa BG reels combine high retrieval power with smooth operation and premium design. The Hard Body Z aluminum body excellently protects the internal DigiGear II gears, which optimally transfer power during fights with large fish. Designed especially for braided lines, the aluminum ABS (Anti-Backlash System) concept spool allows long casts and prevents line twist. The deep spool is equipped with a central rubber ring that prevents line slippage under load.

Daiwa BG reels are not painted but have a special surface finish that completely eliminates the risk of chipping while also protecting against corrosion caused by saltwater. The handle is firmly attached to the body, resistant to heavy loads, and operates smoothly during demanding fights. Starting with the 4500 size, this reel can be used without issues for heavy jigging, catfish fishing, or saltwater fishing.

Using the Air Rotor concept in its design, the reel's weight has been significantly reduced, and the rotational balance improved thanks to a very low center of gravity. The ATD braking system excels by transitioning progressively, within fractions of a second, to the preset drag force, preventing braided line breakage from shock loads.
