Description caret-down

Daiwa BG Monocoque Reel

With the BG Monocoque reel, Daiwa launches the next generation of incredibly powerful and durable reels. Thanks to the MQ (Monocoque) design, the pinion gear can be oversized by up to 20%-40% (depending on the reel size) compared to conventional spinning reels. As a result, power transmission and lifespan are significantly increased. Additionally, the pinion teeth are oversized, leading to better durability and extended lifespan.

The deformation-resistant aluminum body provides an optimal housing for the gearing and ensures smooth operation. Especially designed for braided lines, the ABS aluminum spool (Anti-Backlash System) allows for long casts and prevents line twisting. The deep spool is equipped with a central rubber ring that prevents line slippage under load. The ATD drag system excels with its progressive transition in fractions of a second to the preset drag force, preventing the breaking of braided lines during shock loading.

"Monocoque Body" - The Monohull structure has an aluminum frame designed to resist torsion and bending while refining and optimizing internal space for the pinion and gears. By saving space, the gear system size relative to the frame volume has been extended to technical limits, so the rotor now occupies 85% of the total Monohull frame space. This technology optimizes the advantages of the LT Concept, both in reducing weight and increasing power.

ATD™ (Automatic Drag System) - The drag system excels with a much smoother transition in drag intervals and, as a result, is perfectly suited for braided lines. With ATD, the drag starts immediately from the beginning, and the transition to the preset drag force happens in a fraction of a second, thus eliminating line breakage from shock.

Slow Cross Wrap® - A special technology for cross-laying the line on the spool. This technology significantly reduces tangles around the axis. Moreover, the unique winding means more wraps are taken onto the spool, resulting in extreme casting distances.

Tough DigiGear® - A digitally developed gear system designed to withstand high pulling forces. The pinion, integrated into the spool housing, transmits crank power directly to the rotor smoothly and extremely efficiently. The size of the drive gear, its strength and angle, as well as the shape and surface of the gear teeth allow for the construction of gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal operational resistance, and very long lifespan.

Twist Buster® II - A sophisticated system (patent no. EP0876760B1) that reduces line twist to a minimum. The latest Twist Buster II system significantly reduces friction between the line and the roller, preventing line breakage.

Infinite Anti-Reverse® - A roller bearing allowing the rotor to rotate only in one direction. Only the highest quality steel parts with the tightest tolerances are used here.
