Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Simms Neck Gaiter is a bandana made from a special fabric enhanced with the latest weaving technology, allowing it to stretch in multiple directions. It has no seams that irritate the skin and offers excellent moisture and breathability control. The fabric provides UPF 50 protection and covers from the tip of the nose down to the collar of your shirt, with enough height at the back to fit over or under your favorite fishing hat.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 only allows 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last the lifetime of the garment.
