Bandana Simms Bugstopper SunGaiter Woodland Camo

Simms Bugstopper SunGaiter Woodland Camo Bandana

The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the demands of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Simms BugStopper SunGaiter is a bandana specially designed to offer insect protection on hot days. The bandana is made with the latest Insect Shield® UPF 50 SolarFlex fabric technology which provides lightweight, breathability, and facial protection against sunburn and insect bites. Additionally, the special fabric stretches in multiple directions. It has no seams that irritate the skin and offers excellent breathability and moisture control.

The Solarflex® fabric provides UPF 50 protection and covers from the tip of the nose down to the shirt collar, with enough height in the back to fit over or under your favorite fishing hat. UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric rated 50 will only allow 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will significantly reduce skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last the lifetime of the garment.
