The Salmo Slider was introduced many years ago, becoming legendary among predator anglers. It’s no surprise that this lure has set numerous personal records for anglers (both beginners and competitors). The launch of the Slider series marked a new, superior quality in the world of artificial lures. Retrieving this lure is very easy, and any retrieval technique works well; the lure’s action mimics that of an injured prey fish. The colder the water, the longer each pause between movements should be (up to 3 seconds).

It’s recommended for fishing pike, zander, perch, and catfish. Typically, the Slider is fished with a series of sharp and aggressive rod jerks, while maintaining a fast retrieve. Before using this lure, it’s advisable to cast it a few times in clear water to observe its action (to improve your lure handling technique). The Slider is effective for trolling, letting it trail behind the boat at depths between 10m and 30m and jerking it as you would when casting, every few seconds.

NOTE: Floating versions are highly recommended during the warm season, when vegetation is dense and the available water column is very shallow; sinking models are better suited for areas with less vegetation or deep water zones.
