The Westin Freddy the Frog is a hard-bodied (ABS) surface lure designed for fishing in the water’s surface film, particularly for pike. The lure can be retrieved simply, mimicking a frog crossing a lake with a "walked-side-to-side" motion, or in an aggressive "jerking" style in short bursts of 1-2 seconds for maximum performance at any recovery speed.

Thanks to the glossy finish of the eyes and the hand-painted colors, the frog can be easily spotted by predatory fish, even in low light conditions. It features a fully articulated body, equipped with a back hook and a belly treble made from Japanese carbon steel, designed to minimize the chance of losing the fish during the fight. Additionally, Freddy the Frog is fitted with a short polycarbonate lip meant to create turbulence during retrieval.

At the front of the frog, there is an internal chamber with glass rattling balls that disperse strong vibrations in the water to attract even the most sluggish predators.

TIP: The frog should not be cast with force, as the contact with water acts as a trigger for an attack, right at the end of the cast. When an attack occurs on the frog, the hook set should not be firm; instead, it’s recommended to wait 1-2 seconds and ease the tension to ensure a proper hook set.
