Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing life-changing experiences for clients on some of the world's most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

For warm days on the water, the Solar Flex Hoody allows you to enjoy outdoor activities without interruption. The advanced cooling fabric is complemented by high stretch, ensuring great freedom of movement. The shirt features a UPF50 protection factor and a specially designed hood to shield you from UV rays while keeping you comfortable.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 30 allows only 1/30 of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the life of the garment.
