UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric rated 30 only allows 1/30 of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last for the lifetime of the garment.
