Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at that time didn’t live up to the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Heavyweight Baselayer Hoody is a pullover from Simms designed specifically for women, to be worn directly as a base layer on the skin or as a mid-layer to provide the necessary comfort during cold days. The special fleece fabric wicks moisture away from the body to retain warmth, ensuring demanding activities can be carried out in optimal conditions. The combination of a high collar and a two-panel hood provides maximum warmth in cold conditions, while the double drawcords effectively combat wind. The sleeves are designed with extra length and thumb loops to keep the sleeves in place regardless of movement and offer added warmth for the hands.
