Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After decades of providing customers with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the demands of keeping anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Tricomp Cool is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is built with a stretchy fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly, and provides UPF 50 performance. Stretch side panels allow airflow to keep you cool, while extended knit cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Two flybox-compatible zippered pockets add storage space. This stylish shirt features UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 allows only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes from Simms last for the garment’s lifetime.
