The Simms company was founded in 1980 by a visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the standards needed to keep the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Simms Neck Gaiter is a bandana made from a special fabric enhanced with the latest weaving technology, allowing it to stretch in multiple directions. It has no seams that irritate the skin and offers excellent breathability and moisture control. The fabric provides UPF 50 protection and covers from the tip of the nose down to the collar of the shirt, with enough height in the back to fit over or under your favorite fishing hat.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a 50 rating lets through only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the garment’s lifetime.
