After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn't meet the needs of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

Now it's much easier to protect kids from solar radiation during fishing trips. The Kid's Solar Tech Hoody features technologies specially developed for sun protection. This quick-drying hoody uses COR3™ fabric designed to fight odors, wick moisture, and keep dry throughout the fishing trip or outdoor activities. It is rated UPF 30 for sun protection, and the arms and shoulders are built for comfort and natural movement.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 30 allows only 1/30th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes from Simms last for the lifetime of the garment.
