The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the needs to keep the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer, no matter the weather.

The Intruder BiComp Shirt is a base layer offering enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is built with stretchy fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly, and provides UPF 30 performance. The stretch side panels allow air circulation to keep you cool, and the extended knit cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Two fly box-compatible zippered pockets add storage space. The sleek shirt is made with UPF 30 sun protection. The body and upper sleeves are made of 100% polyester, 77 g/m², while the side body panels and lower sleeves are 92% polyester/8% spandex, 143 g/m².

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 30 will only allow 1/30 of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will significantly reduce skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last the lifetime of the garment.
