The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and long-time guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients life-changing experiences on some of the world's most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the demands needed to keep top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay outside longer in any weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer offering enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is built with moisture-wicking fabric that dries quickly and delivers UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows airflow to keep you cool, while the extended sun cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Three flybox-compatible zippered pockets add storage space. This stylish shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 50 allows only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last for the lifetime of the garment.
