Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is made with moisture-wicking fabric, dries quickly, and provides UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows air to circulate to keep you cool, while the extended sun cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Three zippered flybox-compatible pockets add storage space. This stylish shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 50 allows only 1/50th of UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last the lifetime of the garment.
