Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the world's most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn't meet the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer, no matter the weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is made from fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly, and provides UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows air circulation to keep you cool, while the extended sun cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Three zippered flybox-compatible pockets add storage space. This stylish shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is blocked. A fabric rated 50 only allows 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the lifetime of the garment.
