The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and long-time guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the demands of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and spend more time outside in any weather.

The CX Jacket is part of Simms' portfolio, crafted with a three-layer construction featuring ATY nylon, 6.6 nylon, and spandex plus a 30K membrane, which means waterproofing is a major asset. As a tactical jacket, Simms designed this piece with four pockets—two placed horizontally on the chest area and two designed for hand warming. Other notable features include double cuffs with Velcro fastening, water-resistant TRU® Zip  zippers, and a waterproof hood with rear adjustment.
