Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the demands of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get out on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The CX Jacket is part of Simms’ product line, crafted with three layers—ATY nylon, 6.6 nylon, and spandex—plus a 30K membrane, making waterproofing a key feature. As a tactical jacket, Simms designed this piece with four pockets: two horizontal chest pockets and two hand-warmer pockets. Other notable features include double cuffs with Velcro strap closures, water-resistant TRU® Zip zippers, and an adjustable waterproof hood at the back.
