The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs to keep the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The CX Flat Brim Head is part of Simms' portfolio, crafted from cotton and nylon mesh for breathability. It comes in a one-size-fits-most design but can be adjusted with the rear closure system. It also offers UPF 50 sun protection, with materials tested using a spectrophotometer to determine how much UV radiation they block (for example, a UPF 50 fabric reduces UV exposure to the covered skin by 98%).
