The Simms Bugstopper SunShield Head Cork offers sun protection with a UPF 50 protective layer. UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 50 allows only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last the lifetime of the garment. Additionally, the head is made with the latest Insect Shield® UPF 50 SolarFlex fabric technology, providing lightweight comfort, breathability, and facial protection from insect bites.
