The Twin Power XD is a redesigned model, being the most powerful reel in the Magnumlite series. Designed for saltwater fishing, it is equally effective for targeting large freshwater predators thanks to its sensitivity and ultra-fast gear ratio. The new ultra-light MGL rotor with quick response ensures precise lure control, while Hagane Gear technology provides incredible strength and durability, contributing to smooth and precise internal gear operation. Micromodule II technology delivers an extremely smooth and sensitive rotation, minimizing noise during use. Silent Drive reduces even the smallest play, and the oscillation of internal parts has been eliminated to the highest tolerance level.

Combining these technologies with the X-Protect system, which provides high resistance against saltwater penetration in the internal gears, plus the new Long Stroke Spool design, results in a powerful, lightweight, and durable reel for the toughest saltwater fishing conditions. Additionally, the ARC Spool ensures the fishing line comes off in smaller loops, enabling longer and more accurate casts with minimal friction between the line and spool.

The X-SHIP system enhances pinion gear durability while simultaneously eliminating rotor twisting and flexing. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, precise alignment with the drive gear is maintained, ensuring the gears stay perfectly meshed under heavy loads. An added benefit is the elimination of friction between the spool and the gear, further enhancing casting performance with lighter lures and weights. G Free Body is an innovative technology that repositions the center of gravity closer to the reel seat, reducing hand fatigue during fishing.

It features a Ci4+ body, an advanced version of Shimano's original patented CI4 material. This highly durable carbon material offers 2.5 times more rigidity than CI4. While improving weight and stiffness, the body remains compact in size. The S-ARB bearings are shielded on both sides to reduce the possibility of sand or saltwater interfering with their rotation. Cross Carbon Drag provides a broader range of drag settings combined with Shimano's smoothest drag performance.
