The Shimano Sustain FK reel is part of the Magnumlite series and is designed for anglers who want a lightweight, sensitive, and sufficiently powerful reel to handle both freshwater fishing and coastal saltwater use. Its construction combines low weight with a high-performance mechanism and a refined level of finish, offering precise control and exceptionally smooth retrieves.

The Magnumlite (MGL) rotor, made from Ci4+ composite material, significantly reduces starting inertia and allows an instant response to every movement. This construction improves sensitivity, facilitates quick hooksets, and provides excellent lure control. The lightweight aluminum body houses a mechanism equipped with Shimano’s most advanced technologies, including HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP, InfinityXross and InfinityDrive, which contribute to smooth, efficient retrieves and optimal power transfer.

Silent Drive technology reduces internal play in the mechanism for extremely quiet operation, while the Duracross Drag system provides progressive and consistent braking during fights with powerful fish. X-Protect protection prevents water and contaminants from entering the mechanism, allowing the reel to be used even in saltwater conditions.

For accurate long casts, Shimano has integrated InfinityLoop and AR-C Spool technologies. The very slow spool oscillation ensures even line lay and reduces friction on the cast, while the Anti-Twist Fin system helps control the line and limits loop formation near the spool.
