The Shimano Sustain is a reel from the Magnumlite range featuring a smoothly running rotor that offers precise control over the lure, combined with the strength and protection of the Hagane aluminum body. Sustain is suitable for light to medium lures, even larger-sized lures, generally for freshwater fishing, while also being appropriate for saltwater shore fishing. It has a special design (black body with chrome finishes), but its true beauty lies not only in its looks but in how it feels and performs.

It is remarkably light in hand, requiring minimal pressure to start the rotor turning. Sustain is equipped with all of Shimano's top technologies, including Micro Module Gear II, Silent Drive, and Long Stroke Spool for high casting performance. Hagane Gear technology provides incredible strength and durability, contributing to smooth and precise internal gear operation. Micromodule II technology ensures an extremely sensitive and smooth rotation, minimizing noise during use. Silent Drive reduces even the slightest free play, and internal component vibrations have been eliminated to the highest tolerance level.

The ARC Spool also allows the line to come off in smaller loops, ensuring longer and more accurate casts with minimal friction between the line and spool. The reel features a Ci4+ body, an advanced version of Shimano's original patented CI4 material. This extremely durable carbon material maintains 2.5 times the rigidity of CI4. While improving weight and stiffness, the body remains compact in size.
