The Shimano Nasci FD spinning reel is designed for anglers seeking an optimal balance of performance and reliability. The model uses the combination HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP for efficient power transmission, complemented by INFINITYDRIVE to reduce rotational resistance and increase retrieval power. SilentDrive contributes to quiet operation, while Coreprotect (IPX4) provides enhanced water protection without compromising the mechanism's smoothness.

The AR-C spool optimizes line release for long casts and high control, and the Anti-Twist Fin reduces line slack on the arm, improving line management during casting and retrieval. The One-Piece Bail guides the line evenly, preventing tangles and loss of distance.

Note: variants up to size 2500 inclusive have an "I"-shaped knob, sizes 3000-4000 have an elongated ("T") knob, and the 5000 variant features a round knob. HG (High Gear) and XG (Extra High Gear) models have higher gear ratios.
