The Shimano Curado MGL is a compact and durable baitcasting reel, built around a Ci4+ aluminum frame. The MGL (Magnumlite) technology on the reel spool eliminates vibrations during casts while providing exceptional control through the SVS Infinity braking system. The ball bearings of the Shimano Curado have sealed surfaces, offering extra protection against sand, salt, or dirt intrusion.

The braking control called SVS Infinity allows fine adjustment via a control dial located at the bottom of the reel body, which is especially useful when fishing with light lures. Therefore, Shimano offers a wider range of brake settings than typical baitcasting reels. The Super Stopper system reliably prevents back play, ensuring you have total control during fish fights.

The variable braking system prevents backlash during casting. This refers to the spool overruns and line tangling on the spool. Backlash is prevented thanks to the centrifugal forces you can personally apply. To do this, simply slide the brake lever on the underside of the reel body forward and adjust the VBS pins as needed. The more pins you activate (remove), the stronger the braking force.
