The Minn Kota PowerDrive 2 45 MR is an electric trolling motor designed for bow mounting and freshwater use. Depending on operating conditions, the enhanced GPS system offers up to 50% greater positioning accuracy than previous generations.

The motor features AutoPilot, which automatically maintains the selected heading, making adjustments to counter external influences. Cruise Control maintains a steady speed, while Drift Mode controls heading and speed when drifting. The navigation system can save and follow routes using iTrack, as well as automatically navigate to selected waypoints. When connected to compatible equipment, additional functions such as Draw and Navigate, Follow Mode, Dodge Mode, and Intelligent Depth Control are available, depending on the system configuration.

The motor is controlled using the included Micro Remote wireless remote, which lets you start and stop the propeller, adjust speed, change direction, and activate Spot-Lock and AutoPilot. The compact remote has no screen and features dedicated buttons, including one for quickly engaging maximum speed. The motor can also be controlled using the Minn Kota Fishing App on compatible mobile devices or through equipment connected to the One-Boat Network system.

Minn Kota Digital Maximizer adjusts power delivery to match the selected speed, allowing continuous speed control and optimizing energy use. Under certain operating conditions, the system can extend battery runtime by up to five times compared with conventional motors with fixed speed settings. The motor features a Push-to-Test battery charge indicator, and draws a maximum of 50A. It runs on 12V from a suitable battery, and a 60A circuit breaker is recommended.

The motor shaft is made from composite material that resists flexing and mechanical stress, and is designed for repeated use while fishing. The bow-mount system features a Deploy-Assist Lever mechanism that makes it easier to manually deploy and stow the motor, allowing you to switch between the stowed and operating positions. The propulsion unit features Cool, Quiet Power technology, designed to reduce noise and maintain an appropriate operating temperature. The Power Prop MKP-2 propeller is designed to propel the boat in a range of boating conditions.

The Minn Kota PowerDrive 2 45 MR is compatible with the One-Boat Network ecosystem, allowing the motor to be integrated with compatible Minn Kota fish finders and other equipment. Wireless connectivity provides access to automatic navigation functions and control of connected equipment. This model has no integrated sonar transducer and comes with a Micro Remote, but no foot pedal. The external heading sensor is not included and can be purchased separately for functions that require additional information about the boat’s orientation.
