The Minn Kota Riptide Kayak Terrova 55 MR is an electric bow-mount motor developed specifically for fishing kayaks. The motor provides 55lbs of thrust, runs on 12V and features a short composite shaft measuring 91cm.

The compact dimensions and reduced shaft length are tailored for kayak use, allowing correct propeller positioning without the need for the long shafts used on conventional boats. The bow-mount system enables directional control and positioning of the kayak while fishing.

The Advanced GPS Navigation system enables automatic control of the craft’s position and movement. The Spot-Lock feature holds the kayak at a GPS-designated point, and AutoPilot maintains course. Navigation functions can be controlled via the remote or compatible Humminbird units.

The MR variant is equipped with the Micro Remote, a compact remote that allows control of the motor’s main functions. The motor is compatible with One-Boat Network and can be connected to compatible Humminbird gear via the Ethernet connection.

The Riptide construction benefits from corrosion protection, being designed for saltwater use as well. The composite shaft provides mechanical strength and flexibility, and the Weedless Wedge 2 propeller is designed for running through areas with aquatic vegetation.

Digital Maximizer technology manages power consumption according to the power level used, helping to optimize battery runtime. Speed is continuously variable, allowing propulsion to be adapted to conditions encountered while fishing.

For safety during use, the motor is fitted with a kill switch system that allows the motor to be shut off in emergency situations.
