The Competition 36-31 is one of the newest modular seats launched by the French manufacturer Garbolino, featuring a special design, a beautifully crafted black frame, and machined aluminum blocks that make it extremely lightweight while offering maximum strength. This seat is aimed at both match anglers who compete and those who fish for pleasure and want to invest in a quality product that will serve them for many years. The 36mm diameter leg system is adjustable with a patented Garbolino “Pin-Lock” locking mechanism that allows extension and locking through a safety pin mechanism, considered the most resistant to heavy weights, able to withstand pressures up to 1 ton. Many regular legs have issues correctly locking the extendable inner modular part, but the “Pin-Lock” system neither shifts nor moves even under extreme pressure when fully extended. Ideal for larger gentlemen who can confidently stand on this platform. Also perfect for anglers who need to see and extend their legs to max length or fish on steep banks and uneven shorelines. The new leg design allows screws to replace rivets, fitting perfectly into the leg’s recessed shape, meaning they do not hinder leg movement and provide greater motion at the base of the fittings. The screw locking system features a more conventional extended leg design with 8mm internal threads, offering much greater strength and tightening, creating another anti-slip leg system. The oversized, well-crafted tightening wheels on this system facilitate locking/unlocking without requiring excessive force.

The Competition 36-31 modular seat series is designed to capture attention at first glance, and a closer inspection reveals all the features that motivate an angler to choose such a model. The integrated deep drawer is a remarkable feature, offering extra space for essential accessories during fishing sessions. The single tray compartments under the seat are perforated and called Airvent, which helps reduce weight, eliminate moisture, and quickly dry stored accessories, ideal for rigs, reel spools, hook packets, and more. The clever closing system allows easy operation in cold and wet conditions and literally enables the seat to be “stripped down” to the frame, with the winding trays, drawer units, and seat able to be placed wherever desired. The seat has six height-adjustable legs with a 36mm diameter and adjustable square-profile anti-mud feet, suitable for uneven terrain. The front brace helps correctly position the legs, ensuring optimal stability during fishing sessions. On the back and left side of the frame, there is a bubble level designed to keep the seat perpendicular to the ground line or surface where it is placed. The model allows the attachment of various dedicated accessories like feeder arms, keepnet adapters, rod holders, providing flexibility based on each angler’s preferences.

The “Spider” leg design saves space in the car without compromising the seat’s stability. This significantly reduces the leg “footprint” from below. The angle also brings the leg closer to the angler for better accessory use and fewer obstructions from front legs. The “Spider” design offers more space for the angler’s foot, ideal when fishing with a basket. It comes complete with an integrated keepnet holder. Stronger hand wheels on the main frame for leg tightening, better grip, and larger 8mm internal threading for greater torque.

A new fully molded and waterproof polyurethane seat has also been added, featuring an aluminum base frame that prevents adding pressure to the units below when sitting on the box. The platform has also been improved and now has two detachable wires that allow the base to be fully detached. The shoulder strap ensures easy transport, with an efficient attachment system during transport that can be detached during fishing sessions. The solid aluminum construction makes the seat lightweight, facilitating transport to desired fishing spots.
