Minn Kota was founded in 1934 when O.G. Schmidt invented the first gear-driven trolling electric motor. The idea was born alongside anglers who wanted more control over their boats, and Schmidt named his company after the place he called home, on the border of MINNesota and North DaKOTA.

Thanks to the new motor mount, which features a wider and deeper tilt mechanism than previous models, it fits boats with especially strong crossbars. This mount is made from a composite material of polyamide, resistant to breaking and UV radiation. The handle and panel designs have been completely redesigned.
