By using the new Zaion Light composite material, Daiwa engineers have designed the latest generation of the highly successful Legalis LT series, significantly stronger and lighter than ever. The Zaion® Light material, resistant to deformation, offers significantly improved hardness and reduced weight. Using this material, the gear is securely housed in the reel body, ensuring smooth operation.

Thanks to the LT (Light & Tough) design combined with the Tough Digigear® gear system, retrieval power and power transmission are higher, leading to longer durability. The ATD™ drag provides maximum sensitivity and operates smoothly from the start. The aerospace-grade aluminum longcast spool reduces line friction, enabling longer casting distances.

Cross Wrap® technology precisely lays the line on the spool, reducing the risk of accidental tangles. The Air Bail® pickup arm is hollow, making it very strong, lightweight, and durable. The latest Twist Buster II system significantly reduces friction between the line and roller, preventing line breakage. The aluminum handle is CNC machined, and the Hi-Grip knob is very comfortable to touch even with wet fingers.

LT (LIGHT and TOUGH) - Daiwa technology resulting in smaller reel dimensions that make them stronger than ever. Daiwa engineers aimed to eliminate unnecessary weight without sacrificing power while maintaining the same line capacity on the spool. Redesigned with a minimalist profile and a tougher Digigear, all these features make the LT the lightest and most durable Daiwa reel.

Zaion® - a special material created by Daiwa engineers, characterized by low weight and enhanced strength. It is a solid "High Density" carbon material designed for high performance and maximum impact resistance (used for both reel bodies and rotors). Thanks to Zaion, a lightweight reel body can be constructed that withstands gear forces. Zaion's strength matches magnesium and is 20% stronger than the nylon/ABS material used by most manufacturers for reel bodies. Zaion is 50% lighter than aluminum.

ATD™ (Automatic Drag System) - the drag system excels with a much smoother transition in drag intervals, making it perfectly suited for the use of braided lines. With ATD, drag starts immediately from the start, and the transition to the preset drag force happens in a fraction of a second, eliminating line breakage under shock.

Cross Wrap® - a special crosswise line lay technology on the spool. This technology significantly reduces tangling around the axis. Additionally, the unique winding means more wraps fit on the spool, resulting in extreme casting distances.

Tough DigiGear® - a digitally developed gear system designed to handle high traction forces. The pinion housed in the spool body transmits the handle's power directly to the rotor smoothly and extremely efficiently. The size of the drive wheel, gear strength and angle, as well as the shape and surface of the gear teeth allow building gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal resistance during use, and extremely long service life.

AirDrive Bail® - the reel’s pickup arm is hollow and therefore strong, light, and durable. Its special construction prevents the line from twisting around the pickup wire.

Twist Buster® II - a sophisticated system (patent no. EP0876760B1) that reduces line twist to a minimum. The latest Twist Buster II significantly reduces friction between the line and roller, preventing line breakage.

Infinite Anti-Reverse® - a roller bearing that allows rotation of the rotor in only one direction. Only the highest quality steel parts with tightest tolerances are used here.

NOTE: Legalis LT reels with the letter "C" in the product code are sold with a "Compact" spool (small body / oversized spool), while other sizes have a standard spool. Also, versions with "XH" in the product code feature a higher retrieval ratio (Speed Gear Ratio) than standard reels. The increased pinion dramatically improves power transmission, so XH models have nearly twice the transmission/retrieval power compared to standard models.
