Originally designed for saltwater fishing, this reel delivers superior smoothness thanks to the Airdrive design and lightweight construction. The Zaion V lightweight body, featuring Monocoque (mq) technology, is made from a single piece specific to Daiwa reels, providing a stronger and better-sealed unit. The new ATD-L drag allows precise tension adjustment, responding quickly to fish strikes without the risk of jams or misses.

Daiwa engineers introduced four major new technologies to ensure smooth operation while reducing the weight of the rotor, spool, and bail: Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail, Airdrive Spool, and Airdrive Shaft.
The reel is divided into two units: a solid and robust rear section (featuring MQ and Tough Digigear technologies), and a redesigned front section that’s lighter to promote smoother rotation by reducing inertia and resistance.
