The Simms company was founded in 1980 by a visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. Simms Neck Gaiter is a bandana made from a special fabric enhanced with the latest weaving technology, making it stretch in multiple directions. It has no seams that irritate the skin and offers excellent breathability and moisture control. The fabric provides UPF 50 protection and covers from the tip of the nose to the shirt collar, with enough height in the back to fit over or under your favorite fishing hat.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric rated 50 allows only 1/50 of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the life of the garment.
